The MPG Plus Story
Most modern ignition wire has built-in resistance ranging from 4,000 to 7,000 OHMs per foot to eliminate RFI/EMI (stereo noise and other electromagnetic interference). However, this resistance has a downside of only allowing approximately 60% of available coil power to reach the spark plug (i.e., 30,000 volt coil = weaker 18,000 - 20,000 volts at the spark plug).
